Taveta Children Assistance

Taveta Children Assistance (TCA) is a community based, Christ centered, organization that helps children in Taveta Kenya develop and move toward a brighter future.

Feeding Programs:
Currently TCA provides balanced food rations to over 70 orphaned and vulnerable children every week.  It also provides support to their guardians, especially those who are elderly or ill.

Education:
To fight illiteracy, Taveta Children Asssistance provides school fees, text books, school uniforms and other learning materials to more than 40 children.

Health:
To mitigate the problem of HIV & AIDS, TCA partners with INERELA + KENYA (International Network Of Religious Leaders Living With or Affected by HIV & AIDS) to carry out HIV & AIDS awareness campaigns in Taveta in conjunction with National Aids Control Council and the local CACC office. The goal of these efforts is to reduce the cases of HIV in orphans and vulnerable children in Taveta.

Love Guatemala

Love Guatemala serves people primarily in the rural village of Magdalena, Guatemala through a partnership with Carlos and Thelma Lopez in the art, cooking, and carpentry schools. Through these trade school programs, families are identified who have the ability to gain the skills necessary to provide for their family while also providing for others. Our desire is to bring sustainability to local families. And this in turn brings renewed hope and passion to other families and the whole community.

Love Guatemala is currently in the process of expanding from 3 to 12 trade schools, launch a feeding center, literacy program, Bible training center and establish a Christ-centered community church in the coming years.

12x12 Love Project

The 12x12 Love Project is the beginning of an effort to eradicate abject poverty in a small Guatemalan village.  This dream started with one family who decided to leave the comforts of their western lifestyle and move into this impoverished area to show the love of God to a people in desperate need.

After experiencing the living conditions firsthand, they realized that for a small amount of money ($3,000 U.S.) adequate housing could be built for a family living in extreme poverty.   This caught the attention of some friends back in the US who made it their mission to raise the money to build a single home.  This then spread to a small community of Christ followers who decided that it was more important for these people to have adequate housing than it was for them to have a larger, nicer building to gather in.

The commitment was made to build 12 houses in 12 months for families living in abject poverty.  The response was tremendous.  With no solicitation, money began to come in, sometimes from the most unexpected places, and the houses began going up.  The stories are truly amazing and there was no question that God was orchestrating it all.  Having completed the original 12 in the first year, the vision has expanded, thanks to God's blessing, and more homes are being built.

Buena Vista Sports Academy

The Buena Vista Sports Academy exists to provide an avenue for boys - in the impoverished village of Buena Vista, Guatemala - to break generational chains related to poverty.

The focus of the ministry is centered around competitive soccer training and competition.  There are approximately 30 boys in the academy at all times, the idea being that we can "go deep" with each of them in an effort to instill longterm, life-changing values.  We chose this approach, as opposed to an "open to the public" model, which would have allowed us to minister to hundreds of kids, but on more surface level as opposed to a deeper relational level.

We have a 15-member JV team of "Rhinos" (ages 10-13) and a 15-member Varsity team of "Rhinos" (ages 14-18).  Most boys enter the academy around the age of 10 or 11 and graduate around the age of 18, giving them 7 to 8 years in the program.  We believe this gives us ample time to work towards transformational change, and our prayer is that during these critical years the generational cycles of abuse related to poverty can be broken.  During their time at the academy the boys participate in an intense and focused program combining highly-competitive sports, classroom education, devotionals, weight-training, hygiene, and nutrition.  Most importantly, we aim to teach the boys about following Jesus, respecting women, serving their community, and becoming loving husbands and fathers.
